FCS was established to help individuals, couples, and families experience freedom from persistent emotional difficulties in their lives and relationships. The intent is to provide a safe, confidential, and blame-free environment in which effective work can be done to resolve root issues.
Counseling is believed to be most effective when it is guided by a Biblical world-view. We were created to function as whole persons - body, soul, and spirit. Therefore, when we grapple with psychological issues in the physical world we are also subject to influence by the spiritual realm. This is reinforced by numerous Biblical admonitions to be on active alert because we have a spiritual adversary whose desire is to disable us. Central to this, is the powerful truth that we have already been set free from our enemy's schemes by the One who defeated him and made us more then conquerors. Unfortunately, many believers live in a state of constant defeat. They often live as victims of their negative thoughts, past emotional scars, and out of control behaviors. This often results in difficulty in maintaining freedom from bondages to sin, false beliefs, and temptation.
It is the pivotal goal of FCS to assist the body of Christ to find joy and peace through a right relationship with God and living in the truth of who they are as His children. Additionally, the hope is to provide support to the pastoral staff as a resource to the one(s) seeking help when more intensive counseling is needed to help strengthen the hurting and struggling ones in their midst.
